Resumé

Allen Stovall, creative director of L.A. LightWorks, has applied his art & design talents in a variety of professional settings. It began in the mid 1970s, when he gained a full-time position as graphic artist, illustrator, and sign painter for a large chain of record stores, where he created several award-winning window displays.

In 1984 Allen graduated from the School of Film & Video at California Institute of the Arts (CalArts), where he studied animation and videography. Within a year after graduation he began a new phase of his career, working in the specialized field of traditional, hand-drawn Effects Animation. He enjoyed a successful 15+ years in the animation industry, contributing to a variety of feature films and TV programs (see animation demo reel & filmography).

With the advent of a new century came the decline of hand-drawn animation production and the ascendancy of computer-generated animation. Allen then chose to shift the main focus of his creative and professional endeavors to videography and video editing. In the year 2000 he inaugurated an independent Wedding & Event Videography business. In subsequent years he expanded his repertoire to include website design and once again to offer illustration services, bringing him full circle back to his graphic art & design roots.

Allen is currently enrolled in the Waldorf Institute of Southern California, training to become a Waldorf school teacher. Waldorf schools are celebrated for their emphasis on the arts, as well as for encouraging the cultivation of creative, free thought and respect for all life.
